Not exactly. Decorative hoops and costume jewellery move around in the piercing hole too much, and the metals used may not aid the healing process. Hairhouse are proud to stock the best piercing jewellery in the business. We refuse to use inferior materials in any of our jewellery making the quality of our jewellery the best in the market, helping to prevent infection effectively.

Under no circumstances will ANY piercing be conducted on any person under the age of 16 years without a ‘Consent Form’ signed by their parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must sign the consent form and provide evidence of guardianship (e.g. Medicare card with both names on it) – signing of the consent form by a parent or guardian must be witnessed by the Body Piercer.

Persons aged 16 years and over do not need parental permission to obtain a piercing except in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, where the legal age for piercing without parental consent is 18 years of age. Notwithstanding, in Western Australia an ear lobe piercing only may be conducted a person who has reached the age of 16 years.

Except in New South Wales, nipple piercings will not be conducted on a person under the age of 18 years. In New South Wales, nipple piercings may be conducted on persons aged 16 years and over.

Under no circumstances will any piercing service be conducted on the genitals or genital area.

Piercings take time to heal, so we only use the highest quality jewellery to reduce the risk of infection. These metal materials include the highest grade of surgical steel and titanium, including the premium F136 Titanium.

Swelling, red patchiness and fluid secretion may be a sign of irritation, not infection. Don’t stress! The first thing you need to do is make an appointment with your Hairhouse piercing professional (all part of the Priority Piercing Plan) and if there is an infection, your piercer will advise you on the next steps. Do not remove your jewellery as it may trap the infection inside the piercing channel. Most importantly, keep the area as clean and as dry as possible and we can help with the rest.
